Our Favorite Things - Number 5

I can’t believe the 2016 Wedding Season is coming to an end! We’ve still got a few weddings coming up as the year ends, but mostly we’re already looking forward to next year.  We are so excited to present our first ever blog series, OUR FAVORITE THINGS, or the summary of our favorite wedding trends that we saw this year at Namplify.

Stay tuned as we reveal our top 5 favorite wedding trends and themes that we saw throughout the year.

Today, we will reveal number 5 - RUSTIC.

The rustic trend has been going on for a few years now, but we still LOVE it! Everything from the burlap, to the barns, to the pink paired together with wood - it just creates an atmosphere of home grown love.

Not only is rustic starting to (may I say it?) become a classical trend, but it is also super easy to create for your own special day. Here’s a few of our tips:

One of my favorite things at any wedding are the centerpieces.  I love the wood slabs, especially when placed together with mason jars.  Even better is when the jars are filled with baby’s breath, or another woody flower.  The perfect finishing touch? Simple white candles.

Another one of the things that makes rustic weddings so romantic is the abundance of pictures of the bride and groom.  A huge trend that we saw everywhere this year was the pallet board display of pictures.  And secret here: it is so easy! Just print out all the pictures that you have with your love bug and nail them, glue them, tape them, clothespin them to a pallet or set of pallets! Short on pallets? Add them to the wall in our venue (with permission of course).  The best part about this is that after the wedding, you have printed pictures - perfect for making (and procrastinating, if you are anything like me) a love story scrapbook!

And finally, I think that a naked wedding cake adds the perfect touch to a rustic wedding! It's a new thing I saw this year, and although we didn't have one at our wedding, I've made one for a party since and it was incredibly delicious. I think it really ties everything together and allows you to have a cake that matches the theme of your wedding.
